THE FRIDLEY FAMILY

2 WINROCK PLACE

Meander down and around Green Gables Circle and you’ll come across Winrock Place, the friendly little cul-de-sac where the Fridley Family lives, and their beautifully landscaped property!

Located on a large corner lot, the Fridley home is surrounded by a beautiful collection of shrubbery and trees. It is a great example of blending shrubbery of a variety of colors, leaf textures, heights and shapes to create an interesting and inviting landscape around the property. An especially well done landscaping plan for a property with lots of shade! Congratulations to the Fridley’s!

To present the awards on behalf of Alden Bridge Village Association were Board members, Colette Weinreich Stowe, and Steve Leakey.

Yard of the Month - Sept. 2007

ROBERT & LUCY BELOW

127 STOCKBRIDGE LANDING CIRCLE

From what we hear from their neighbors, not only do they take excellent care of their yard, but are great neighbors too:

“Mr. Below is a wonderful neighbor. He’s friendly, conscientious, and takes such wonderful care of his yard. If it is before 9:00 a.m. on Saturday morning you will find him with the clippers in hand trimming areas of this flowerbed or yard. He is such a gentleman, never starts his mower before 9:00 a.m.”

The Below’s beautifully manicured lawn is centered with a flower bed of a mixed variety of lush green plantings, flowering bushes, and anchored with lovely birdbaths. It is a fine example of blending a variety of foliage for interest with flowering plants.

To present the awards on behalf of Alden Bridge Village Association were Board members, Colette Weinreich Stowe, Darla Bell and Theresa Wagaman. Theresa is pictured with Robert Below above. Sponsored by Lowes, Chic-Fil-A, and the Mitchell Pavillion, our thanks to the Below’s for all their hard work in beautifying their property which all of us can enjoy!

TEDDY & BOB WOODYARD

38 ROCKLEDGE COURT in Eagle Mead Subdivision

Your ABVA is pleased to present the Yard of the Month recognition to Teddy and Bob Woodyard at 38 Rockledge Court! Here are some comments submitted with this property's nomination:

"Bob and Teddy moved in last year. They had an ordinary 'drive-by' neighborhood yard before and have transformed it into a beautiful 'stop and gawk' landscape. All of our Eagle Mead neighbors are commenting on the improvements. Teddy did the landscape design and plant selections, as well, as overseeing the work."

"Mrs. Woodyard lives on a court in which her property is along both main entrance streets into their neighborhood. The long street-facing side of her yard has been completed to showcase lush grass, elegant landscaping, and complimentary wrought iron seating and decoration for the front porch. Even the unsightly manhole cover on the opposite side of her driveway, she has managed to shroud amongst flattering, flowering plants. Her neighbors, with her guidance, are now tackling the center island of the court to make it more welcoming as well."

We are very appreciative of the Woodyard's efforts in enhancing the beauty of our community!  Please drive by and take a look! Simply take Research Forest to Crownridge and turn right, make an immediate left into the Eagle Mead Subdivision and look for the Yard of the Month sign just 2 blocks down on the right at the corner of Rockledge cul-de-sac. Enjoy!
